Customers
Add and manage your customers, properties, and contact information.
Adding customers
Open the Customers tab
Tap + to add a new customer.
Fill in their details
- Name (required)
- Service address — where you do the work
- Phone and Email — for sending invoices
- Billing address — if different from service address
Why separate addresses? A property manager might have 10 rental properties. The service address is each property. The billing address is the manager's office.
Customer details
Tap any customer to see their full profile:
- Jobs — all past and upcoming jobs for this customer
- Invoices — payment history and outstanding balances
- Estimates — any quotes you've sent
- Notes — internal notes about the customer or property
Customer balances
The Money tab tracks all outstanding customer balances:
- Overview pane — shows your top 5 customers by outstanding balance in the "Who Owes You" section
- Ledger pane → Customers — full list of all customers sorted by outstanding balance, including both invoiced and uninvoiced amounts
Tap any customer balance to see their full invoice history and send payment reminders.
Saving a card on file
When a customer pays online through Stripe, their card is automatically saved for future charges. You can also:
Open the customer's profile
Find the customer in your Customers tab.
Go to their invoice
Open an existing invoice.
Charge on next job
Use the Charge & Send Receipt option on the next completed job.
Once a card is saved, completing a job gives you two options:
- Charge & Send Receipt — charges the saved card immediately
- Send Invoice — sends an invoice without charging (for customers who prefer to pay manually)
This is the magic of GRASSR. Finish a job, tap once, get paid. No chasing payments.
Customer portal
Every customer automatically has a personal portal — a private web page they can visit to see their account, upcoming jobs, and pay invoices.
The portal link is included in every invoice email you send. Customers don't need to create an account — the link is unique to them.
What customers can see on their portal:
- Upcoming scheduled jobs
- Outstanding invoices with a Pay Now button
- Payment history and past invoices
The portal lives at grassr.io/portal/[unique-token] and works on any device.
Editing customers
Tap any customer to open their profile, then tap Edit to update their:
- Name
- Service address
- Phone and email
- Billing address
- Tax settings
The edit form opens as a sheet — no need to leave the customer profile.
Deleting customers
To remove a customer:
Open their profile
Find the customer in your Customers tab.
Scroll to the bottom
Tap Delete Customer.
Deleting a customer removes their profile but preserves historical job and invoice records for your bookkeeping.
